Cameroonian football star, Njie
Clinton was racially attacked in France after putting up a spectacular
performance for his club, Lyon on April 4 in Guingamp. Njie scored the third
goal in the game which his team won three goals to one.
Fans of his own team are said
have said that they don’t care whether or not he is black, as long as he scores
goals for them. As commented on his Facebook page, Njie Clinton says “As we
stay top of the league table, my greatest prayers is to be at the Champions
league next year”.
A Cameroonian born football
administrator based in Europe, Bertrand Ndong said the young footballer is only
21, still has a whole career ahead of him and would not be discouraged by
racist insults and that he should be ready for whatever as he lives in Europe.
Njie Clinton’s team, Lyon
occupied the 2nd position in ranking after the 32nd day
of play. He has played 14 matches and scored 5 goals. He has equally recorded
several decisive passes.
