The 2nd phase of the competition to
choose the best teacher user and integrator of ICTs of each region has been
launched. The competition was launched on April 23, 2015.
The registration of candidates began on that day and will end on 30th June 2015. The evaluation of application files will be done in July–August and the results published in September 2015. The organization of official ceremonies to give awards to the best teachers will be done in October 2015.

The competition is open to all secondary school teachers public or private,
who manifests interest and is registered for free by downloading the application form on the website of the MTN Foundation at http://www.mtnfoundation.cm/concours/
The download application form is then filled and
submitted electronically on the above site, with a copy to the Projects
Division of Planning and Cooperation of the Ministry of Secondary Education.
TERMS OF REFERENCE OF THE SECOND
EDITION OF THE COMPETITION TO SELECT IN EACH REGION THE BEST TEACHER IN USING
AND INTEGRATING ICTs IN SECONDARY EDUCATION
I-
Contextand
justification
In order to
support efforts deployed by the Government to improve quality education, the
MTN FOUNDATION has engaged, through an agreement signed with the Ministry of
Secondary Education, to support innovation in teaching by recognizing, based on
a competition, teachers who have distinguished themselves in using and
integrating ICTs in teaching methods and techniques.
The competition is open to public and private
secondary school teachers of all disciplines, regardless of neither grade nor
status.
II-
Objectives
Through this competition, the Minister of Secondary
Education and MTN Foundation intend to:

Stimulate learners to research in the improvement of
teaching and learning techniques as well as methods
-
Support the exchange of pedagogic resources and practices within the
education community
-
Increase the production and access to digital pedagogic resources
-
Create healthy
emulation amongst secondary school teachers in the use of Information and
Communication Technologies
-
Enhance the school performance of
learners

Expected outcomes
-
Increased number of teachers using ICTs in preparing
and teaching their lessons;
-
Increased number of pedagogic resources produced and digitalized by the
teachers ;
-
Enriched digital resources bank.

Stages of the competition
The
programme shall be implemented through the following stages:

Launch of 2ndedition
of the competition:
o Joint
MINESEC/MTN FOUNDATION press release;
o Launch ceremony in a school;

Publication and broadcast of the
competition terms of reference : press insert, letter by MINESEC to
Regional Delegations of Secondary Education, Divisional Delegations of
Secondary Education and Principals ; posters; online publication of
registration forms;
-
Registration of candidates ;
-
Counting of candidatures ;
-
Assessment of candidates and publication
of results;
-
Official prize award ceremony to the winners.

Registration of candidates
The
competition is open to any interested public or private secondary school
teacher who freely registers by downloading the application from the MTN FOUNDATIONsite.
The downloaded form is then filled and submitted via foundation@mtncameroon.net.
VI-
Selection modalities
(1)
Candidates shall be assessed, classified and
recognized in two separate groups:
-
1st group : Teachers in computer
science, industrial techniques as well science
and technology of the tertiary sector;
-
2ndgroup:Teachers of the other disciplines.
(2) The assessment shall be done by a joint MTNF/MINESEC panel, the
composition of which shall be evidenced by the Minister of Secondary Education.
Such jury shall be made of :

1. Definition of the prize
For each region, two
(02) prizes shall be staked with 1 for each group of candidates:

1st group : Teachers in computer
science, industrial techniques as well
science and technology of the tertiary sector;
The prizes:

1laptop or 1 smartphone
-
1free internet connection for 12 months
NB:A smartphone shall
complete the prize for the first 02 national winners per category.
2. Organisation of the ceremony
The
prize award ceremony shall be organised in Yaoundeor any other town jointly
chosen by the partners.The programmeand listof guests shall equally be jointly
determined.
