POLICE RECRUITMENT CAMEROON

POLICE RECRUITMENT: 9400 YOUTHS TO JOIN THE FORCE IN TWO YEARS

THE GENERAL DELEGATION OF THE NATIONAL SECURITY HAS LAUNCHED A SERIES OF COMPETITIVE ENTRANCE EXAMINATIONS TO RECRUIT 9400 YOUNG CAMEROONIANS IN VARIOUS GRADES AND SPECIALTIES OF THE POLICE FORCE IN THE COUNTRY.
The entrance which is scheduled to be in two sessions will see the recruitment of 4700 youths in the first two years and another 4700 in the second session.
According to the Delegate General, Martin Mbarga Nguelle, special measures are underway to ensure that many Cameroonians sit for the exams in a calm, serene and transparent atmosphere.
As an innovation, the recent decision from the Delegation of National Security has increased age limit by three years to ensure massive participation:
•Superintendents and assistant superintendents: 17-30 years
•Inspectors 17-28 years
•Constables 17-27 years
The 4700 police men and women to be recruited in the first section for two years will be as follows:
•3000 police constables
•75 drivers
•25 musicians
•1000 inspectors
•245 technicians and medical assistants
•700 superintendents of police
To fight overcrowding in registration centres ,Mr MbargaNguelle says the process has been computerised and after registering online, each candidate will be given a code to be used instead of the name until results are published. This, he says, is to check bribery and corruption.
