 Lots of gifts and merry making at “Les Coccinelles”
The First Lady Mrs. Chantal BIYA handed over lofty parcels of Christmas gifts to pupils of “les Coccinelles” school complex at Unity Palace on Friday 19 December 2014 in a colourful ceremony that has become one of the hallmarks of life in the nation’s capital city.
Pupils, teachers, parents and invitees packed the school premises by 12 noon today when Madam Chantal BIYA arrived to personally grace the occasion with her presence. She was received on arrival by the Minister of Basic Education, Madam YOUSSOUF ADJIDJA ALIM, the Minister of Youth and Civic Education Ismael BIDOUNG MPKWATT and host of other dignitaries.
The children thrilled the guests with songs, dances, recitations, flute and ballet dancing that was aided at by renowned artists, such as Tsala Benoit. There was even a magician who thrilled the children with his savvy tricks.
After visiting the various classrooms to see some of the work done by the pupils within the school year, the First Lady offered a meal to all the invitees, as the occasion ended with a family photo with the pupils of the school.
