Press release of the Minister of Communication
This
Wednesday, March 11, 2015, some national media as well as cyber
newspapers and numerous social networks, relaying a news that the
official website of the Presidency of the Republic of Cameroon, would
have presented the Head of State in the process of honor
our fallen soldiers on the battlefield against the terrorist
organization Boko Haram in the bodies of these soldiers raising
ceremony, which was held in the Court of Honour of the Brigade
Headquarters on Friday March 6, 2015 in Yaounde.
The Minister of Communication brings the lie to this new unfounded.
Indeed, this ceremony was then that the knowledge of all national public opinion, the Head of State had visited Europe as part of a private residence on Sunday, March 01st, 2015 and that it still remains there to this day.
It is on Very High Instructions of His Excellency the President of the Republic, the Minister Delegate at the Presidency in charge of Defence, chaired by its name, the memorial service of 06 March.
All verifications made, the false attributed to the official website of the Presidency of the Republic is the result of a coarse photomontage, which is the work of a hacker broke on that site, and no doubt motivated by the desire to undermine the honor and dignity of the Head of State of our defense and security forces and the Cameroonian nation as a whole.
This vile maneuver comes as the Cameroonian people as a whole, decided to form a united front of the head of state and defense and security forces which he is the head, probably to create diversion and distraction, trying to undermine the morale of the troops on the war front and demobilizing the entire nation in the great spirit of solidarity that is being manifested.
The Minister of Communication therefore invites journalists and national media to more circumspection, discernment, critical and civic responsibility, in the understanding and treatment of certain information which they know, and more, when Such information affecting the strategic area of defense and state security.
