In this issue of the IUG E-News, we are pleased to bring you the latest updates on the Commencement Ceremony, Faculty of the year, our Alumni and the introduction of a new Bachelor degree in International Management.

The 16th Commencement Ceremony took place at the Hotel Kempinski on the 28th June 2014. This year the University was honored to have two distinguished guest speakers : Mr. Paul Polman CEO of Unilever, one of the world’s leading fast-moving consumer goods companies and Mrs. Arancha Gonzalez Executive Director of the International Trade Center (ITC), a joint agency of the World Trade Organization and the United Nations. Over 54 candidates for graduation marched at the ceremony representing 23 nationalities. Parents, diplomats and friends of the University attended the ceremony.

Pavel Savitch
Mr. Pavel Savitch was awarded the prize Faculty of the year at the 16 th Commencement Ceremony of this year. The award was given as a result of consistently outstanding reviews by students and peer faculty. Mr. Savitch is an adjunct professor of accounting at IUG since 2005. He started his education in Russia and completed a graduate degree in Geneva and is a certified chartered accountant. He is as a senior auditor with SITA a pioneer in international telecommunications for the air transport industry based in Geneva.

New Bachelor in International Management
In September, a new B.A. in International Management was introduced. The Bachelor in International Management (BA-IM) is designed for students interested in a career in international business. The BA-IM program meets the demand of students who are seeking a global perspective. The students will develop the necessary skills to operate and make decisions in a multicultural environment. The contents of the BA-IM program include management theories and models, marketing principles, human resources and organizational behavior methods, leadership skills, and international business techniques. In the latest World Economic Forum’s Global Competitiveness Report, Switzerland ranks first as the most competitive economy.
