Mami Susana Geh Laid To Rest At Geh’s Family Compound Bambui, Cameroon.

The Geh’s family of Bambui and the Ngwa family Bafut, friends and the entire Bambui community converged at the Presbyterian Church Tubah to pay their last respect to their beloved mother, sister, aunt, friend who passed away to eternity on Monday 8th June 2015.
During the Funeral Church Service of Mama Susana Geh at PC Tubah, the Reverend Akalambi Rogers, Presbyterial Secretary Tubah/Boyo Presbytery and Church Pastor for PC Tubah Congregation consoled the bereaved family and sympathisers in a consoling sermon taken from 2Corinthians 16.
Rev. Akalambi told Christians that everybody is born weak and helpless because of the sin Adam and Eve committed in the Garden of Eden. He encouraged Christians by telling them that there is still hope beyond the grave for them.
Concluding he said Mama was a good and loving person. Despite her presence in a very big polygamous home, with the problems as we all know are present in such homes, Mama has never quarrelled with anybody.
Read life history of late Mama Susana Geh delivered to the congregation during the funeral service and pictures below.
Mama was born in the year 1944 in Nchum – Bafut into the family of Ngwa Tancho and Ma Nchang Helen, all of blessed memory. She was the last of 4 children – 2 males (still alive) and 2 females (of blessed memory).
Mama never attended any elementary education since in their days many families did not value the education of the girl child – AS such she stayed back at home assisting parents sponsor the other male children.
Mama got married to late Pa A. A. Geh at the age of 20 years as the 7th out of his 13 wives – we all know late Pa Geh as a very big polygamist who needed a large family to build his empire. Mama Susana also died No 7, leaving behind 6 Co–wives or Mbanias to mourn her.
When Pa Geh died in 1989, some 26 years ago leaving behind a large family of 76 biological children, 13 wives and above 200 grand/great grand children, working on the basis of survival of the fittest. The education of all Mama’s 6 children who were still in school became her sole responsibility. She had to dig the farm to make sure they were all educated. Four (4) successfully graduated from universities, 2 from Nigeria and 2 from Cameroon. Two dropped out and learned a trade. Unfortunately for Mama, she lost her first son who graduated from Nigeria as a mechanical engineer and gained employment at Chantier Naval and died after just a month of work.
Mama’s dream of resting was again frustrated but she never gave up the struggle. She successfully sponsored her remaining children who are now all working – Mama died at a time when the children had stopped her from any farm work or hard labour so as to enjoy the fruits of her labour. Little did they know that this over rest may have hastened her death.
Mama Susana Geh was a fervent Christian of the Presbyterian Church in Cameroon P.C Tubah. She was an elder in the year 1998 to 2005, a member of CWF Movement, an adviser and member of the Halleluya Choir. Mama was so committed to her Christian life, a reason why she insisted that all her children must belong or join a movement in the Church. Thank God she succeeded in that domain as three of her children are in CMF, one yet to be dedicated, 2 are in CWF though yet to be dedicated and one of the two ladies a member of New Sela Choir.
Mama’s health situation started disturbing her around early March this year while in Buea with her last daughter. It all started with G.I.T infection that provoked serious diarrhoea. She was rushed to the hospital where the situation was put under control. While back at home she started complaining of her legs getting heavy and paining, moving towards her waist. This further resulted to her inability to walk after one month. All necessary medical attention was given her and all lab tests conducted proved negative. Mama was rushed down to Bamenda for further medical intervention. All the necessary tests were done again and were still negative. She was then referred to a physiotherapist for massage therapy but her condition constantly deteriorated. She gave up the ghost on Monday the 8th of June 2015 at 4:30pm at the Tubah District Hospital.
Mama was fondly called; “Massa John” a role she played so well in a drama in Church, “Mamy for Compong”, because she took everyone as her own child, she was a peace maker in the Geh’s family, Mama would hardly quarrel with anyone, she had many adopted children and above all, Mama was a God fearing person.
Mama left behind to mourn her, the very large Geh’s family, relatives from Bafut, friends and well-wishers.
Goodbye Mama and May your gentle Soul Rest in Perfect Peace.
