Kumbo–Nso : Mad Woman Burns, Buries Grandchild

She reportedly erected a ridge on the crime scene to conceal her act.
A woman whose only name CAMNEWS got as Yika and her daughter, a Form Four student of Government High School Shishong, Kumbo, have been nabbed by Kumbo gendarmes in connection with the alleged burning to ashes of a new born baby at Mbuluf village in Bui Division of the North West Region.
According to sources, the daughter, whose names are being withheld, delivered the child in a raffia palm bush late December 2014. The grandmother of the new born, who is said to be insane, reportedly gathered palm fronds which she used in burning the foetus to ashes. The story goes that after the act, she made a ridge on top of the ashes.
When inquisitive villagers discovered that the pregnancy of the daughter had disappeared, they question the two, but they refused to say the truth. Even a Deputy Mayor of Kumbo who lives in the village tried to get the truth out, to no avail. It was only when the suspects were taken to the Kumbo Gendarmerie Post that the truth came out that the child was delivered and set on fire.
Our findings show that four crude abortions were committed in Mbuluf last year. One of the women, who could not bear the pains, went to the Shisong Cardiac Hospital, Kumbo, where it was discovered that cassava stems inserted into her genitals had killed the foetus in her womb. According to the same sources, the woman is today seeking medical attention in Bamenda as a result of the abortion that damaged one of her kidneys.

Cameroon Frees German Abducted By Boko Haram

German citizen Robert Nitsch Eberhard

Cameroonian troops and their allies have freed a German man who was held for six months by Islamist terror group Boko Haram, Cameroonian President Paul Biya said.
Boko Haram kidnapped German citizen Robert Nitsch Eberhard in Nigeria in July, Biya said in a statement read Wednesday on state-run broadcaster CRTV. He did not detail how, when or where the rescue operation took place. “A special operation of Cameroonian armed forces and security services of friendly countries” freed the man, he said.
Nitsch Eberhard told journalists he was glad to be alive.
“I am happy to see all these people around me, who have rescued me and made sure that I survived, because until the last minute, I did not know whether I would survive or I would not survive. It was for me a big problem. Because it was darkness, total darkness, and you see nobody around you. Then this is a big problem to say OK, I will survive or not survive,” Nitsch Eberhard said.
Eberhard was flown in from Cameroon's Far North Region to Yaounde shortly after noon Wednesday.
He said he was grateful to all those who worked to secure his release. The German ambassador to Cameroon, Klaus-Ludwig Keferstein, also thanked Cameroonian authorities, particularly because “we could find a solution to this problem of hostage-taking,” he said. Eberhard spoke amid heavy security and mentioned that he was teaching at a vocational school in Gombe, Adamawa state, Nigeria, before the insurgents took him hostage in July.
He has been taken to the residence of the German ambassador in Yaounde. The ambassador said initial medical care will be given to him before he is flown back to Germany for more medical attention.
The Islamist group has attacked neighboring Cameroon, initially by crossing the border from Nigeria to steal food or kidnap foreign nationals. More recently, the group went after Cameroonian military installations.
On Sunday, suspected Boko Haram militants kidnapped 80 people in Cameroon's Far North Region, officials in the country said. By Monday, a military operation had freed 24 of the captives; three others were found dead, state-run media reported.
Boko Haram has said its aim is to impose a stricter form of Sharia law across Nigeria, which is split between a majority Muslim north and a mostly Christian south.
Biya has called for international cooperation in the fight against Boko Haram. Last week, the Russian ambassador to Cameroon, Nicolay Ratsiborinski, said his country will supply Cameroon with modern and sophisticated military weapons, including heavy artillery, armored cars and missiles.
Boko Haram means “Western education is forbidden” in the local Hausa dialect

Aims For All Human Knowledge To Be Stored

Google aims to store all human knowledge
Google is building the largest store of information in human history - a knowledge base that autonomously gathers and merges data from across the web to provide unprecedented access to all facts about the world.
The search giant is building Knowledge Vault, a type of knowledge base - a system that stores information so that machines as well as people can read it.
Google’s existing knowledge base, called Knowledge Graph, relies on crowdsourcing to expand its information.
However, humans could only take it so far so Google decided to automate the process.
It started building the Vault by using an algorithm to automatically pull in information from all over the web, using machine learning to turn the raw data into usable pieces of knowledge.
Knowledge Vault has pulled in 1.6 billion facts to date. Of these, 271 million are rated as “confident facts”, to which Google’s model ascribes a more than 90% chance of being true, ‘New Scientist’ reported.
Tom Austin, a technology analyst at Gartner in Boston, said that the world’s biggest technology companies are racing to build similar vaults.
”Google, Microsoft, Facebook, Amazon and IBM are all building them, and they’re tackling these enormous problems that we would never even have thought of trying 10 years ago,” he said.
Google researcher Kevin Murphy and his colleagues will present a paper on Knowledge Vault at the Conference on Knowledge Discovery and Data Mining in New York.

Windows 10 On Phones: 6 Things To Know

The leap from Windows Phone 8.1 to Windows 10 on smartphones isn’t just going to be a jump in version numbers. It’s going to drop “Phone” from the name entirely.
This has been a huge advantage for large tablets that run full Windows instead of water–down mobile versions of the desktop software, unlike iOS 8 does with Mac OS X Yosemite.
Microsoft is breaking down the Windows Phone and Windows RT borders of its operating system thanks to a version of Windows 10 that’s tailored devices smaller than 8 inches.
On stage, it demoed the Lumia 1520 running a new Windows 10 build. Here’s what we expect from this single operating system approach on everything from mini tablets to smartphones.
Free upgrade to Windows 10 for Phone 8.1
The first way in which Windows 10 on phones act like a grown–up operating system is through the upgrading process. It’s free for the first year, just like the desktop software.
That means you won’t have to ditch your current Windows Phone 8.1 device in order to test out Windows 10. In fact, it’ll be available to Windows Insiders starting in February.
Then again, Microsoft is bound to have all–new devices running Windows 10 by the time the operating system is ready to ship. After all, that Nokia 1520 is already a year–and–a–half old.
Design tweaks that make sense
Lined with Microsoft’s now–standard app tiles, Windows 10 on phones doesn’t look completely different but the Start experience has been tweaked.
A full–bleed background photo lies beneath the tiles, greeting you with a nice personalization feature when you swipe up from the lockscreen, something users have been clamoring for.
Panning over to the right, the apps list now begins with “recently install apps” at the top. It’s been promoted to make new downloads easier to find right after you hit the Windows Store.
The settings menu has also been reorganized to reflect what’s seen on PCs and tablets, and it looks a lot easier to drill down to the system–wide preferences that you want to change.
Actual Office, universal apps on the phone
The drive to make Windows 10 platform agnostic was best demonstrated by two of Microsoft’s three flagship Office apps: Word and PowerPoint (Excel is also going to be pre–installed).
The company made the look and feel consistent on touch devices, beginning with the familiar recent documents list that roams across all of your Windows 10 systems.
Opening up a Word file in page layout mode teased a shared document in the demo, but reflow mode optimized everything for the mobile editing environment.
The Office ribbon that I’m now finally used to is squeezed into the app bar experience so that key elements like the formatting commands tab and review tab are easy to get to.
PowerPower also has full editing tools handy, but what Microsoft was keen on demoing here was the fact that it’s easy to project a rich slideshow using a phone and wirelessly via Mircast.
Windows 10 is all about universal apps, from the all–new Outlook mail, Calendar and Internet Explorer–replacing Project Spartan apps that were also preview.
Of course, for this to be successful, more app developers need to be more willing to serve the unified base more so than they were with Windows 8.1 and Windows Phone 8.1 separately.
Action Center syncing with PC
Windows phones and computers need to move in step with each other, so it’s about time that checking a notification on a phone clears it from the computer and vice–versa.
That’s the idea behind the redesigned Action Center in which grouped and single item alerts can be dismissed from this pull–down notification menu. It’s reflected across your devices.
Doing it twice on a computer and phone is so Windows 8.1.
Adjustable keyboard, inline messaging
Microsoft’s Wordflow keyboard makes the transition from Windows Phone 8.1 to Windows 10 on touch devices, complete with built–in shape writing and personalized vocabulary learning.
New in today’s demo, the ability to resize the keyboard seemed helpful. Pulling it up and to the right so that it was one–third the size made it fit for one–handed typing on a 6–inch Lumia 1520.
Inline messaging is also getting in line with what iPhone users have been able to do with iOS, and switching between SMS and Microsoft’s own Skype platform happens all in one app.
Oh, and dication? That’s here too and it delves into your contacts to properly spell out names and outputs symbols when you say “hashtag” and “exclamation point.”
All of this isn’t necessarily more advanced than what we’ve seen from iOS 8 and Android Lollipop, but Microsoft is finally catching up in a big way.
Photos app uses pruning
One of the primary uses of a smartphone? Taking photos, of course. That’s why I’m intrigued about the way in which Microsoft plans to handle pictures on Windows 10.
The brand new universal Photos app caches images across all of your devices synced with OneDrive and it automatically weeds out duplicates and auto–enhances pictures.
Red eye and repeat photos are out. Brightened faces and automatically created albums are in. Google+ has been doing this for a while, and Windows is finally doing it right too.

Apostle John Chi's Life Description

APOSTLE JOHN CHI was born on September 26, 1976 in Esu –Wum, Menchum Division of the North West Region of Cameroon out of a union between Mr CHI Victor and his wife CHI Lucy Ekange. I left Primary School in 1989 and lacked funds to continue in secondary school. I then learnt motor electricity yet stopped for want of money. So, I left for the South West Region and worked with Honourable EFITE Andrew as houseboy. One day in Mutengene, I saw a crowd listening to a preacher and went closer. Suddenly, the preacher spotted me out and prophesied to me saying: ‘God is going to use you mightily, make you a great and famous Prophet that would be known all over the world’. I took him for a fake pastor.A few days later, our church pastor from Sierra-Leone, said the same thing as above and declared a period of fasting. I accepted but broke the fast before the due date. When it ended, he asked me to accept the calling. I was perplexed. He continued saying God had asked him to take me to his country. Finally, he told me to be humble and leave the rest to God.In December 1999, we reached Lagos, Nigeria. He lodged me in his friend’s home and left. One day, the half paralyzed head of the household said he had a vision in which God told him to ask me not to continue to Sierra-Leone and that God shown him my star. He then asked me to join the SCOAN free evangelical school, which I did. After my first day at SCOAN, I realized the need to know more about Jesus Christ our Saviour.Back home that night, I asked God to reveal who Prophet TB JOSHUA was. I soon fell into a trance, found myself in a room lit by the rays of a large star. A heard a voice saying: “stand up and go outside”, which I did. There, I saw three men dressed in white, all looking up to the sky and saying “Hosanna to the God of Prophet T. B. Joshua”. There stood the latter staring at me. I then woke up. Funny enough, the song I had been singing before going into the trance was still on my lips. The following night, I was again caught up in a trance and saw a man standing by my bed side. His body was like bronze and his eyes blazing like fire. He led me to Cameroon where he showed me places to be developed. Finally, he said: “whatever you ask the father in my name, I will do. Now conscious, the words I had just repeated after him were still on my lips. Sometimes later, the pastor who had brought me to Lagos came and continued to his country without me since I was now worshipping at SCOANThe building of the SCOAN main auditorium started and I was highly involved. One day, a man told me to follow him to Prophet T B JOSHUA’s office. The latter asked if I could go to his village. I gladly did with two other brothers. From there, I was sent to AKURE for over a year. When the mission was over, I thought of coming back to Cameroon and start a business venture. In a dream, Prophet T B JOSHUA met me and said, “You are not going anywhere for now, you’re supposed to be in vendor class”. I began doing well in class. As time went on, the Man of God came to me in a dream and said: ‘if you continue this way, you will make Cameroon great’. I then woke up.I explained the dream to Mr Mbawa Patrick and the others in the sitting room. One of them, Mr. Joachim, went to SCOAN and told the coordinator, who related the dream to Prophet TB Joshua. The latter invited me to SCOAN and inquired about the dream. I was admitted into the vendor class. I thank senior prophet T. B. Joshua for what the Lord has used him to do in my life. Again in the year 2010, while on my usual assignment on the mountain, I had a vision and I got really scared. In that vision, I died and my spirit left me. I found myself before a huge gate with Michael as gate keeper. So many of us had died and were standing in a queue. Michael had a big book in front of him. Whenever he asked someone to come forward, that book would be opened and the person’s life on earth was cross checked. If you were qualified, the gate was opened for you to go in but, if your case was the opposite, you were sent to a desolate place. When it was my turn, Michael opened the gate and asked me to go in. Once you get in, you are shown into a temple where everyone is dressed in white. The latter came in from the gate and told us that the high priest was soon going to come out. While waiting for the high priest’s arrival, everyone present listened to Senior Prophet TB Joshua’s message. When the high priest and the elders came out, Michael was among them, The High priest was led to the throne. I could not see his face, but for his hands, feet and the spots where he was nailed. I recognized a few people who came in through the gate with me. Later, the high priest started commissioning us. He called the first person and assigned him an evangelist and made another a pastor. Then came my turn, he pointed at me, and said, ‘I am sending you as a prophet’. Moreover, He gave me a small cross, and asked what I desired. I requested for grace to fellowship with Him. He granted my request and I began coming down. I landed on earth, and woke up.Terrified, I told my colleagues about the dream. A few days later on the mountain, I had another vision wherein I died and my spirit left me. The spirit watched my casket being carried in a Limousine. As the vehicle was about leaving for the village, it split into two. The front part carried my corpse while the rest of the car carried my spirit. At the village, the grave had been dug and the casket was taken for burial. My spirit went to the grave to view the corpse for the last time before burial. The faces of Apostles Paul, Peter, Elijah and Ezekiel were what I saw and got frightened. I identified their names on their foreheads. I woke up and told my colleagues. A week later, Prophet T. B. Joshua anointed us in the office of men of God.
