MTN-Microsoft Cloud Conference in Douala

We are pleased to inform you on the holding in Cameroon of the first conference on issues related to Cloud and Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) in Cameroon. This conference shall take place from 13 to 14 November 2014 at Méridien hotel, Avenue des Cocotiers, Bonanjo-Douala, and sponsored by MTN and MICROSOFT with the support of Jing & Partners.

The forum seeks to reinforce constructive discussions on business opportunities and constraints currently faced by telecom industries and ICTs. The objective is also to search the means of setting up an environment to enable leveraging ICTs for economic growth.  

According to statistics of the World Bank, Cameroon is the second largest economy in the CFA zone, i.e., French-speaking Africa with a GDP of 29.27 billion American dollars generated in 2013, with the Telecoms sector mainly accounting for this figure. This statistics is encouraging. However, a wide access to devices, better access to Internet, better clientele sensitization and the development of innovative applications are capable of favouring the growth of the Cameroonian economy, even in unprecedented ways. 

At MTN Cameroon and MICROSOFT, we believe that Cameroon has an enormous potential with significant spinoffs based on the internet. As a result therefore, particular constraints faced by telecoms industries and ICTs must be addressed such as inadequate technical infrastructure, lack of skills, cost of applications and inappropriate policies as well as regulatory framework.

This important event shall gather corporate leaders, influential personalities, decision-makers and change agents in order to deliberate on issues such as connectivity, Cloud, ICT governance, privacy, security, intellectual property and funding access. International facilitators such as Prof. H. Sama- PhD, TMT; Mr Stephan Konan-Intelligence CIV and Mrs Marie-Charlotte Roques-Bonnet of Microsoft shall enrich the deliberations by sharing their wealth of experience.

The theme retained for the conference shall give the opportunity to these stakeholders to discuss on the following points:

Wimbum est une tribu dans la région du Nord-Ouest de la République de Cameroun.Quoi arrive à quelqu'un quand il meurt?
Dans la zone Wimbum, la plupart des gens croient que si une personne meurt, il est la volonté de Dieu. Voilà ce qu'ils vont dire. Quand quelqu'un après avoir bu beaucoup de vin de palme tombe dans un ruisseau, par son imprudence et meurt, les gens Wimbum dira encore que si Dieu ne voulait pas qu'il meure, il aurait pas pris un peu de vin de palme beaucoup à se saouler les gens Wimbum disent qu'il était le Dieu du temps lui voulait mourir de cette façon Et encore, il ya différentes manières de mourir - .. mauvais et de bonnes décès. la mauvaise mort est celui que vous vous mourez. personne n'a une idée de comment vous avez commencé avant de mourir. dans ce cas, il ressemblera à la sorcellerie. les gens vont dire qu'il était quelqu'un de votre famille ou que la personne mourante un mauvais mort exigeait quelque chose à quelqu'un ou quelque chose voulait, puis l'adversaire étant un homme de sorcière a poussé de cette façon.
Maintenant Ils disent comme ça, mais quand vous le suivez profondément ils disent qu'il est Dieu qui a dirigé l'autre sorcier ou sorcière de le faire. Si Dieu veut que vous mourez, vous ne mourrez pas seulement directement, il enverra quelqu'un pour vous pousser ou si vous obtenez par le cou. donc, si Dieu ne veut pas que tu meures sorcellerie ne peut pas vous tuer. Ils disent qu'il est la volonté de Dieu, mais il est livré par quelqu'un si vous mourez de cette façon. Encore une fois les gens croient que si un homme meurt à l'heure exacte prise par Dieu, il doit être un homme d'âge. Si vous décédez à un âge avancé, ils disent qu'il est temps, que Dieu vous a appelé.
A l'origine avant le christianisme tout Wimbum étaient païens et croit que les ancêtres étaient des dieux. Aujourd'hui, même Wimbum chrétiens traitent toujours avec les ancêtres, sauf quelques croyants qui savent bien parler de Dieu. Il est la croyance en des dieux d'une certaine région. Maintenant, par exemple, lorsque vous commettez un crime à la ferme en tuant un crabe ou serpent sans visage que vous avez à apporter un poulet à l'homme qui possède la terre, afin qu'il parle au dieu du composé que vous avez fait une erreur en tuant l'animal. il est aussi le dieu de la cours d'eau, forêts, terres, etc. le dieu de la terre est le dieu de l'ensemble de la région comme un village.
Le Wimbum croient que la maladie est causée par la négligence ou par vos ennemis. Votre ennemi si il n'a aucun moyen de vous tuer, il fera poison qui va travailler progressivement. Ils croient négligence ou défauts peuvent causer la maladie. Lorsque vous êtes en faute, votre esprit est pas stable et que vous êtes toujours peur. Si quelqu'un vole votre chose et devenir plus tard malade, il va penser qu'il est causé par vous. Chaque fois que quelqu'un est gravement malade, ils lui demandent: «qu'avez-vous fait"? Certains disent-ils la maladie est causée par quelqu'un est causée par la culpabilité et de la conscience. en outre, ils disent que quelqu'un est une sorcière parce qu'il est malade, mais jamais cela ne vaut pas ce qu'ils affirment à nouveau est une personne avant droite qui ne présente aucun défaut. ils peuvent vouloir nuire à cette personne en raison de l'envie en mettant médecine nuisibles dans le sol pour lui de traverser mais il ne fonctionnera pas parce qu'il ne présente aucun défaut. en Wimbum système de croyance, la plupart des maladies viennent parce que les gens invitent par leurs propres fautes.
Maintenant, nous allons manquer de voir comment la mort est le résultat de la sorcellerie et de Dieu. Pour arrondir bon et mauvais à la fois la mort sont la volonté de Dieu et la volonté du peuple, parce que Dieu ne peut pas tuer directement, mais envoyer des sorcières ou sorciers à tuer. La plupart ne affirmer ce pas aujourd'hui en raison de leur image de soi en tant que chrétiens. Wimbum religion traditionnelle est polythéiste. Ils ont plusieurs dieux et ancêtres mélange de ces concepts catholiques de Dieu et des saints rendent encore polythéiste aujourd'hui. la culpabilité est le plus cause de la maladie, même la médecine nuisibles n'a aucun effet sur ​​une personne avec une conscience claire qu'ils détiennent.
